BEIRUT - Jado is a trans woman from Beirut. A prominent figure and a motherly presence in the local LGBTQIA+ community, she is an inspiration to many. Like many others, she has to fight every day just to be herself and survive.

‘When a trans woman is attacked, only her own community cares for and protects her. If one of us is killed, it doesn't matter,’ says Jado. ‘Our struggles are invisible, and we can rarely show them because being seen can be dangerous.’ While social exclusion, violence and war are a daily reality, Jado remains a beacon of strength and hope.
