Besnik Boletini is an investigative journalist from Kosovo.

Besnik Boletini is an investigative journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Preportr, with more than 16 years of experience in journalism and 14 years in investigative reporting within COHU!

He has led and produced numerous in-depth investigations focusing on corruption, public governance, health care, economy, education, energy sector, environmental protection, human rights, and broader social issues. Throughout his career, he has applied investigative journalism in areas such as human rights, environmental protection, social justice, and public accountability, consistently addressing issues of strong public interest.

Over the past decade, environmental and energy-related reporting have been among his core priorities, including investigations into environmental degradation, natural resource management, energy governance, and the impact of public policies on sustainable development.

His work has been recognised with 18 national and international awards, including three EU awards[1] for investigative journalism. In 2026, he was awarded the international Hans Staiger Investigative Reporting Award, presented by the International Center for Journalists, in recognition of excellence in investigative reporting.
He is also a collaborator with the international investigative journalism network Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), contributing to cross-border investigations and data-driven reporting initiatives.

In addition to his editorial and investigative work, Boletini has trained aspiring journalists for more than ten years at COHU’s Investigative Journalism School. He has delivered lectures on media ethics at training sessions organised by the Press Council Media and at the Green School of Institute RIINVEST. He has also contributed as an investigative journalist and external editor to various national and international projects, such as Kosovo 2.0.

Boletini served for more than two years as Chairman of the Board of Radio Television of Kosovo, contributing to strengthening governance, transparency, and professional standards within the public broadcaster.

He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Pristina, with a focus on media sociology, and has completed numerous professional training programs in environmental reporting and investigative journalism.
