Crystal Chow is an award-winning, independent, bilingual journalist from Hong Kong. She primarily covers climate change, global health and culture in Asia and beyond.

Her work often features deeply reported, human-interest narratives at the intersection of science and social justice, from indigenous resistance against mega-dam projects in Malaysian Borneo and transnational abalone smuggling in South Africa, to grassroots food security initiatives for Hong Kong’s urban poor and the overlooked cultural and ecological lives of Philippine shipworms. It has been supported by the Africa-China Reporting Project, the Earth Journalism Network, the Pulitzer Center and the National Press Foundation, among others. She holds an MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy from SOAS, University of London.
