Frank de Kruif is a freelance journalist and historian based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Frank studied history at Leiden University. He worked for a trade magazine specialised in shipping and ports. Since 2014 he is a freelancer and published books on financial crime and corruption in the port of Rotterdam. He publishes in Dutch daily NRC en Rotterdam based Vers Beton.

ROTTERDAM - In the fight against drugs crime in their ports, the mayors of Rotterdam (Aboutaleb) and Antwerp (De Wever), kicked off in 2019 a more intensive collaboration between their ports. The big meeting took place behind closed doors at the Feyenoord Stadium.
