Georgiana Anghel is a freelance journalist from Oradea, Romania, with over 12 years of experience in local media.

She held the position of editor-in-chief at Jurnal bihorean in Oradea from 2022 to 2024. Seeking more freedom to pursue in-depth investigations, she transitioned to independent journalism in 2024. Currently, she is working on investigating topics related to climate change.

Since becoming a freelance journalist, her investigative work has been supported by various grants, including two projects funded by Journalismfund.eu and a third project supported by S-Info, on which she collaborated with Context.ro.

BRUSSELS - In this investigation, a diverse group of journalists analysed climate risk reports, academic literature and EU strategies for climate adaption to grasp the current state of adaptation in Europe. They also looked at local climate adaptation in Oradea, Romania, Loulé, Portugal and Rostock, Germany to see what local circumstances hinder or encourage good climate adaptation practice.
