Hilma Unkic is a freelance journalist from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with more than 10 years of working experience.

From 2015-2020 she worked as journalist and editor at Mediacentar Sarajevo for the website Diskriminacija.ba. Her work is mostly focused on human rights, protection of marginalized groups and media development. She currently writes articles for several media outlets in BiH and abroad, including TOL.org, Diskriminacija.ba and SEENPM.org.

She is also working as communication officer for South East European Network for Professionalization of Media. For her journalistic work she received Srđan Aleksić award and Combating stereotypes, realizing rights award by UN Women. She was N-ost "Reporters in the field" fellow. She holds a Master in Communication Science from the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo.
