Juliana da Penha is a Brazilian journalist based in Scotland.
She is the Founding Editor and Director at Migrant Women Press, an independent, migrant women-led media platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of migrant and racialised women through journalism and storytelling.
Juliana’s work is rooted in advancing equity and inclusion in journalism, elevating diverse narratives and driving systemic change across the media industry. She is committed to creating spaces for underrepresented voices—particularly women— and to reshaping the media landscape so it can better reflect the complexities of individual and collective experiences.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies and Communication from the University of Lisbon, a Master's degree in Human Rights and International Politics from the University of Glasgow, a Postgraduate Certificate in Journalism Innovation and Leadership from the University of Central Lancashire, and an NCTJ Diploma in Journalism.
