Lillo Montalto Monella is a journalist working for RAI, Italy's national public broadcasting company.

He reports on the daily TV news bulletin from the regional hub of Friuli Venezia Giulia, often dealing with the real-life consequences of the climate crisis at local level. During his career as a multimedia and multilingual reporter across Europe, he specialized in investigative features on national and transnational migration policies and human rights.

At Euronews, where he worked for nearly four years, he has authored praised investigations on the role of IOM and UNCHR in EU’s migration policies; and co-created two award-winning, cross-border investigations: "European Climate Migrants", with the support of Journalismfund; and the podcast series "Cry Like A Boy", financed by the European Journalism Centre and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and named Best Digital Audio Project at the 2021 European Digital Media Awards organised by WAN-IFRA.
