Louis Boyd-Madsen is an independent Scottish-Danish journalist covering the environment, markets, and the politics of territory and technology.

He holds an Erasmus Mundus Master’s in journalism, media, and globalisation and previously taught an introductory course on nationalism, populism, and globalisation at the Institute for American Universities in Barcelona.

Boyd-Madsen is currently working on a range of cross-border investigations, exploring topics such as energy markets, algorithmic trading, and competition law; EU border externalisation in Egypt; and the efficacy of using wetland ecosystems for carbon offsetting.
