Marta Montojo is a Spanish freelance journalist who specialises in climate and environmental issues.
She has written for various media outlets in Spain, including Ballena Blanca, La Vanguardia, eldiario.es, El Confidencial, and Climática. Her work has also appeared in several international publications including The Guardian, the Green European Journal, and China Dialogue.
Between 2021 and 2025, Marta worked for Agencia EFE, covering international climate diplomacy at UN summits (COPs) and also reporting on green politics in Spain and Europe.
Prior to this, she worked as Foreign Editor at The Outlaw Ocean Project, a Washington, D.C.–based non-profit newsroom that investigates environmental and human rights abuses at sea.
She is also a co-founder of Espacio Late, a non-fiction bookstore, café, and journalism lab in Madrid, which is run by a collective of Spanish and Latin American reporters.
