Trained as a geography and biology teacher, Péter Sarkadi has built a career as an environmental journalist, photojournalist, radio editor and presenter, and podcast producer.
Twenty-five years ago, he founded Greenfo.hu, Hungary’s first dedicated environmental news portal, which he continues to lead today. He also spent two decades producing environmental and popular science programmes for Kossuth Radio, Hungary’s national public service broadcaster. In August 2026, following a 14-year absence, he returned to Kossuth Radio as editor-in-chief, overseeing its environmental programming.
