Swantje Reuter is a freelance journalist, podcast host, and assistant director for radio plays and sound art at public radio.

With a background in agricultural sciences and urban ecology, she once dreamed of greening Berlin’s façades with brewing hops. Today, she reports on agricultural topics and the built environment for public radio.

Drawing on her training as an agriculturalist, she brings a deep understanding of her interviewees' everyday realities. Audio, to her, is a sensual and focused form of storytelling—one that invites listeners to truly hear and build their own scenery.

Swantje contributes to DLF Kultur and WDR, and shares her expertise through podcasting workshops. She received the Journalist-in-Residence Grant of the Leibniz Research Alliance and recently published a feature on recycling in the construction sector for German Public Radio.
