Zsuzsi Kun is a multimedia journalist for the tech-science journal Qubit, published by one of the main Hungarian independent media publishers, Magyar Jeti Zrt. (444, Lakmusz, Qubit). She works on making different social and environmental issues visible using multimedia and written formats while focusing on reaching a wider audience.
As a tech-science, environmental, and economics journal, Qubit seeks topics beyond just Hungary. The editorial staff collaborates with journalists from surrounding countries to provide a more detailed view of common issues, such as environmental and climate crises that affect multiple nations.
Zsuzsi was born in Hungary, and after studying in the field of engineering, she turned to psychology. She is more interested in the practical and social aspects of the field than its academic approaches or theory, which influences her work as well. After years working in industrial journalism, she joined Qubit in 2022, leaving the technical and engineering world behind. Her previous work experience and all her studies make her a detail-oriented videographer focusing on the human aspects and people's stories. As a podcaster, she produces a feminist podcast, Tyúkól with Nóra Diószegi-Horváth (444) about women, their rights, problems, and society's attitude. In Tyúkól, they try to explore a huge selection of topics, communicating a bunch of different opinions and viewpoints from experts in a wide range of fields to their listeners.
In 2024, she created a documentary series about dementia with her colleague, András Tóth. They learned filmmaking, interview techniques, videography, and editing skills from scratch simultaneously, which made the entire project an even bigger challenge. Now Qubit, as a journal, is more open to both long and short video formats.
