DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
The project aims to develop a short video format to help us resume producing our own content after several years. We will work with journalists and editors who have limited experience in this area, and we may publish videos on TikTok as well as on our YouTube channel.
We aim to broaden our audience through video, reaching groups that may not necessarily engage with our content. In Hungary, Mérce is unique in addressing important issues such as social justice, equal rights, and the specific problems faced by minorities, including women, ethnic minorities, and sexual minorities. We also address the systemic causes of inequalities, advocate for these groups, and discuss the quality and accessibility of public services and the aspirations of grassroots movements.
The new video format will highlight important public issues, strengthen our unique interpretative framework within the Hungarian-speaking community and draw attention to our texts. This project will enable our staff to develop new skills and explore an exciting new genre, something they haven't had the opportunity to do in recent years due to a lack of time and resources.
GOALS
We will set up a video working group to establish how it will function. The group will develop a broadcast concept and compile script elements, as well as designing graphic and musical elements. Experts in various fields will be involved.
After identifying the technical needs, we will write the script for the first broadcast, possibly incorporating two or three concepts. We will then record, edit and evaluate the broadcast together, making corrections as necessary. Once the second topic has been selected, we will write the script for the second broadcast, record it, edit it, discuss it and correct it.
Based on the lessons learned from the two broadcasts and the choice of formats and options, we would like to rethink the concept and adapt and improve it if necessary. We will prepare the broadcasts for publication (end titles, graphic elements, etc.), develop a promotional plan and implement it.
