Divergente is a Portuguese digital magazine of narrative journalism, non-profit, and advertising-free.

It was established in 2014. The team aims to portray topics of public interest that are underrepresented in the media and to give voice to voices that are not usually heard. From the beginning, this outlet adopted a slow pace, valuing rigor over speed. It gives the journalists and editors the time necessary to establish close contact with the people they interview.

Divergente also has an edition in English.

Intentional arson is one of the main causes of fire. The investigation by Divergente and El Confidencial tried to see the reasons behind. The findings are presented in a variety of formats, from podcasts to text to interactive maps.
