Mediacités is an independent media dedicated to local investigation in the Lille, Lyon, Nantes and Toulouse metropolitan areas.

Mediacités is going back to the basics of journalism by giving investigative journalism its rightful place.

There can be no informed action or choice without demanding, independent information. This principle, which applies nationally, also applies locally.

As a multi-city newspaper, Mediacités concentrates its resources on four major conurbations - Lille, Lyon, Nantes and Toulouse - to respond to these different issues:

  1. The national press rarely covers regional and metropolitan issues;
  2. The local press (PHR/PQR) does little investigative reporting;
  3. Decentralisation and the growth of metropolitan areas have led to the emergence of strong powers (political, economic, cultural, etc.) without any real media counterweight.
