Ring is your window on Halle-Vilvoorde (Flemish Brabant), which is roughly the very wide Flemish and green periphery around Brussels. Ring is the youngest of the 10 regional television broadcasters in Flanders and started on 1 March 1995.
As a regional channel, Ring focuses on everything that happens in the Halle-Vilvoorde region. Every weekday there is a news broadcast at 18h, on Monday there is Ring Sport after the news and on Wednesday we focus on initiatives from the "Vlaamse Rand" in "Over de Rand" (about the periphery). At weekends, VIVA! highlights lifestyle, tourism, living and gastronomy from the region. There are also regular other series that zoom in on current affairs, history or tourism in our broadcasting area.
With this programme offering, Ring aims to be a binding sign in a region where diversity is very high. Ring also supports the Flemish character of its broadcasting area without compromising its journalistic and deontological principles.
Ring's broadcasting licence and management are in the hands of the completely independent VZW RTVB (Regionale Televisie Vlaams-Brabant - non-profit). Ring is housed in Vilvoorde, in the premises of EMG, the largest facilities company in Belgium, which has been Ring's technical partner since its inception.
