BOURNEMOUTH - 'Land of plenty, land of but a few', a JF-supported multimedia cross-border story has been shortlisted for the New Media Writing Prize (NMWP), an initiative from the Bournemouth University, in England.

The intercontinental investigative story about how peasants in northern Mozambique have been affected by the arrival of large agricultural investments has been shortlisted in the journalism category.

The project was developed with the support of Journalismfund.eu's Flanders Connect Continents grant programme. It was a collaboration between Boaventura Monjane (Mozambique), Sofia da Palma Rodrigues (Portugal), Emma Lesuis (the Netherlands) and Diogo Cardoso (Portugal).

Media Prize awarded in Leipzig

LEIPZIG – On 8 October 2013 the Media Foundation of Sparkasse Leipzig awarded the thirteenth Prize for the Freedom and Future of the Media. Journalismfund.eu’s Brigitte Alfter and Ides Debruyne were awarded one of the four prizes.

Guardian and Glenn Greenwald additional laureates of Leipzig Media Prize

LEIPZIG - The jury of the Leipzig Prize for the Freedom and Future of the Media 2013 have decided to exceptionally award a fourth prize this year: news outlet The Guardian and journalist Glenn Greenwald join the laureates that had already been announced before. Among the other laureates are Journalismfund.eu's Brigitte Alfter and Ides Debruyne.
