FERRARA - The Internazionale Festival will take place in Ferrara from 2 to 4 October: A weekend of meetings, presentations, projections, exhibitions and workshops with journalists from all over the world.
Internazionale a Ferrara is an annual journalism and cultural festival, organised by Internazionale, one of Italy's most prominent outlets.
The festival offers a global perspective on journalism and current affairs, by inviting leading journalists from prominent international outlets, as well as authors, activists, academics and cultural figures from around the world.The range of topics covered is incredibly broad, offering deep insights into global dynamics.
The 2026 programme includes a Reporter Slam on 2 October, bringing to the stage five journalists and five investigations supported by Journalismfund's Environmental Investigative Journalism grant programme:
- Cecilia Anesi, on illegal gold from Venezuela entering the supply chains of Apple, Tesla and Nvidia;
- Anastasia Karadimitri, on the impact of mucilage on the eastern Mediterranean;
- Hala Nouhad Nasreddine, on threats to protected areas from oil and gas extraction;
- Eleonora Vio, on the pressures facing Mazara del Vallo’s red shrimp industry and the Mediterranean ecosystem;

Presented by Anna Koens of Journalismfund Europe, the event puts five investigations from different parts of the world side by side, with the audience choosing the winner.
The festival is organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Ferrara, Arci Ferrara and the IF Association.
Nearly all meetings are free but registration is often required. The venues are accessible on foot or by bike. The programme includes talks, debates, workshops, reporter slam, and film screenings.
