
OKO.press is a modern, independent Polish medium providing a wide audience with reliable journalistic content.
Since 2016, OKO.press has been working for democracy, the rule of law and the public interest by providing high-quality content in fact-checking, debunking and investigative journalism formats. As a non-profit organization, it receives revenue from readers (about 70% of revenue) and grants.
In terms of both independence and public trust, OKO.press holds a very special position in the Polish media landscape. Since the very beginning in 2016, they have been strongly basing on the transparency of their mission and vision, along with the earned trust of both the rapidly growing audience and institutions they have been working with. The list of organizations they cooperate with consists of Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, Batory Foundation, Polish Judges Association IUSTITIA, Prosecutors' Association LEX OMNIA, Campaign Against Homophobia, Women's Strike, Federation for Women and Family Planning, Women's Congress, Extinction Rebellion, ClientEarth, etc. They also cooperate with Prof. Adam Bodnar, Prejudice Research Center, IPSOS, CBOS, Onet.pl, Gazeta Wyborcza, Polityka, Wysokie Napięcie, Magazyn Kontakt, Krytyka Polityczna, Forum.eu and Balkan Insight.
OKO.Press's work has been recognized with awards. OKO.press is recipient of Freedom of Speech 2020 Award by Index on Censorship for strengthening the public sphere in Poland. The journalists received Grand Press and Amnesty International Poland awards. In 2020, OKO.press was awarded The Equality Crown by the Campaign Against Homophobia for writing about LGBT rights. In 2021, OKO.press journalist Mariusz Jałoszewski received a special award from the largest association of judges in Poland “Iustitia” for his rule of law reporting.
