RADOMSKO - The project aims to accelerate the digital transposition of Gazeta Radomszczańskie from paper to electronic version, by increasing the number of subscriptions sold. As part of the project, the editorial office will create a small subscription hub to create additional, unique journalistic content only for subscribers.

This is intended to increase the subscription purchase rate and user stay time on the site. This content will be available via FB, X, and newsletters. Additionally, the editorial office will commission integration tests of the subscription shopping system to improve the purchasing path and eliminate places.

Target group

The project is primarily intended to improve residents' access to quality local journalism. The government-owned Polska Press concern owns Ruch, a distribution company. The movement limits sales outlets in small towns and terminates contracts with local independent publishers to make distribution more difficult. The development of the subscription model will allow GR to become independent from the traditional sales model. Residents of the Radomsko poviat, where Gazeta Radomszczańska is published, have limited access to high-quality local journalism that controls the government, monitors its hands and takes care of democratic standards. In order for residents to have access to information about the local community and authorities, and be able to follow social and economic processes taking place in the local environment - Gazeta Radomszczańska must expand its digital section.

Goals of the project

The aim of the project is primarily to improve residents' access to high-quality local journalism, increase the offer for subscribers and acquire new subscriptions. Residents of the district where "Gazeta Radomszczańska" is published have limited access to high-quality local journalism that controls the government, monitors its hands and ensures democratic standards. To increase it, Gazeta Radomszczańska must expand its digital department.

Implemented activities

  1. They improved the editorial quality.
  2. They strengthened the position of Gazeta Radomszczańska as a medium focused on controlled functions.
  3. They conducted one laborious journalistic investigation as part of the project (additionally)
  4. They increased the number of subscribers
  5. They increased the number of annual subscription packages
  6. They extended the time users spend on the radomszczanska.pl portal
  7. They identified errors in our paywall panel, which we are gradually eliminating
  8. They increased the offer of independent local control journalism for residents
  9. They strengthened the brand of Gazeta Radomszczańska

Impact addressing news deserts

Projects such as LM4D, which support the development of small local media, are crucial for maintaining residents' access to independent information. Gazeta Radomszczańska is the only media in the Radomsko district that looks to the authorities. LM4D has allowed them to shorten the path they are taking - from print to digital. Support in the development of subscriptions and technology will allow them to continue our business successfully. Technology and paid subscriptions are crucial, especially from the point of view of Google's expansion and the shrinking print sales network. They hope that other local Polish editorial offices will also be able to benefit from such support.
