DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Zébuline occupies a unique position within the French centralised media landscape. It is the only cultural media outlet that is fully embedded in its geographical surroundings in south-east France. Achieving a balance between print and digital channels is rather difficult.
For now, we are focusing on adapting our content for online access to make it easier for readers to find, and to achieve financial balance. This is far removed from the tiny posts and passing attention that prevail on social media platforms.
EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE PROJECT
The programme aims to identify the most suitable solutions to:
- encourage our current readers and to change their online habits without abandoning the print version.
- attract new, younger readers in order to increase Zébuline's revenue.
Firstly, we will generate data and feedback on paid access options for Zébuline's weekly content for existing subscribers and partners.
We're experimenting with non-functional mock-ups of articles on the free website, which redirect users to a pay-per-view integrated e-reader or an external digital newsstand if they want full access.
We'll also produce several mockups according to editorial categories.
