MISKOLC - The focus of our project is to set up a podcast studio. This will enable us to produce more episodes and significantly reduce content production costs. This development will contribute to the sustainability of our media outlet, as well as promoting access to high-quality information for people living in the region.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Last year, we launched the Borsod24 podcast series, which covers local and national issues with a strong focus on social, political and environmental topics. Our audience responded well to this new format, with most episodes attracting thousands of viewers and listeners — a good result for a local media outlet experimenting with a new format.
Building on this success, our aim is to release episodes more regularly and even record some in front of a live audience. However, to achieve this, we need our own dedicated podcast studio, as renting recording locations incurs significant costs. Having our own studio would enable us to produce more episodes without incurring extra costs, and it could even generate revenue, thereby contributing to the long-term sustainability of our media platform.
GOALS
In the first month, we will set up our podcast studio. Although we have a suitable space available, the necessary technical equipment and recording conditions are not yet in place. The focus of this phase will be on acquiring the required tools and setting up the studio properly.
From the second month onwards, we will start producing podcast episodes in our own studio. First, we will conduct a test recording to ensure that all the equipment is functioning correctly. After that, we will record two full episodes and hold an interactive live session with a live audience.
If the technical conditions are right, we plan to expand our thematic episodes to cover not only equality, human rights, democracy, press freedom and social issues, but also to introduce a monthly roundtable where our editorial team will debate the latest regional and national news.
In summary, this project will result in the creation of a fully equipped, modern podcast studio and the production of two recorded episodes.
