BRUSSELS - Belgium is home to countless international organisations, as well as a large number of politically active refugees and migrants. This makes our country attractive to espionage and foreign intelligence services.

It is hard to judge the impact of this concentration of 007s on Belgian soil on the quality of our democracy because nobody has a full understanding of their activities.

While asylum seekers are well aware that they are being monitored, potential targets such as businesses and universities are often completely unaware of the threat. Kristof Clerix delves into the shadowy world of intelligence services and double agents.
