LONDON - Boy Wasted, an investigative podcast series supported by Journalismfund Europe, has been named Best Podcast – B2B at the Talent Awards 2026, organised by the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME). The series was published by the ENDS Report.

In their citation, the judges praised the entry: "Boy Wasted from ENDS Report stands out in this hotly contested category with impactful and no-punches-pulled storytelling. Creative editing and suspense-building intrigue keeps the listener engaged and craving more insight and information as the grisly investigation unfolds."

The series was presented by Dan Ashby and Lucy Taylor and developed in collaboration with the ENDS Report and De Groene Amsterdammer. Ashby and Taylor worked alongside Adnan R. Khan, together with Tess Colley and Pippa Neill of the ENDS Report, with further contributions from Jamie Carpenter and Jarek Zaba.

The findings have prompted reactions across the UK political spectrum. Barry Gardiner MP, a member of the Environmental Audit Committee, said the revelations "should shock all of us". Laura Burley, Head of Plastics at Greenpeace UK, argued that the story "should spur the UK government on to completely ban all plastic waste exports". Ellie Chowns, leader of the Parliamentary Green Party, said the government "must urgently consider these findings", while Baroness Sheehan, Chair of the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee, said she welcomed "the ENDS Report for highlighting this tragic story".
