The aforementioned projects were selected by a jury for their approach to media development and innovation, in line with organisational strategies that meet audience needs. In addition to these important considerations, the jurors also focused on the ability of the grantees to produce robust journalism. The 26 projects have a maximum timeline of 3 months to complete their work.

The jury is anonymous and it is composed of four experienced media experts specialising in local media from across Europe. The jury independently decides on the granting of the submitted project proposals, based on specific grant rules, assessment criteria, and project budgets.
